Merv and Georgia Peterson

Pastor Merv Peterson was born and raised in Canada, graduating from Northwest Bible College, Edmonton, Alberta and Trinity Western University, Langley, British Columbia.

Georgia is a native Californian and the Petersons were married in Santa Ana, California beginning their ministry together in Modesto. They served churches in Montana, British Columbia, and Washington State and Merv was Director of Vancouver Teen Challenge, a youth drug treatment program, for three years. They also served as missionary-teachers in the Fiji Islands and Merv was senior Airport Chaplain at Vancouver International Airport. The Petersons have three married sons and four grandchildren.

Merv and Georgia came to Entiat in September of 2003 with a vision to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to hurting people in our community. As the only full-time pastor in the Entiat Valley, Merv has been called upon in times of emergency, personal crisis, and bereavement. The reach of our church has now extended to the Chelan and Wenatchee valleys with the establishment of a larger facility to work from.

"And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and

some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the

equipping of the saints, for the work of service, to the building up

of the body of Christ..."  Ephesians 4:11-12

David and Yuka Sanford
Youth Ministry

Dave and Yuka met and married in Japan while Dave was serving with the U.S. Marine Corp. Upon completion of Dave's military service, Yuka moved with her husband to Entiat, learned English, and quickly established herself as a young mom with a passion to reach youth and

model Jesus Christ for them. Now, as parents of five children ranging in age from kinder-garten to teenagers, they are very involved in school activities.

The Sanfords are active in the community as volunteers in the Junior High-High School academic and athletic programs. They have developed an exciting and comprehensive church related program to meet the needs of young people through weekly activities, special events, and clear teaching from the Word of God. Through networking with other youth groups, young people in our area are motivated in knowing that they are not alone in their desire to become true followers of Jesus Christ. Dave and Yuka invest time and energy in establishing relationships both on and off the school campus.
